Update

i haven’t been able to upload much in the past few weeks, cause simply, I haven’t been doing that much, with this insane! Wedding Planning and assessment coming up for Tafe with the next week, I’ve been a little bit to busy to just finish artworks now. But I did have my Installation assessment yesterday, so I can now upload what I have been doing there, yay!

This is just the drawings that I made for my installation, I then photocopied them onto OHT transparency paper. I had some paper towels that I dyed for my drawing class, which I had lying out all over the desk, so I thought it would be interesting if I put the OHT pictures on them, except for the glare, it looks quite interesting like that..

Update

I haven’t been able to post the last week two weeks, mainly because I finally have got the flu and I haven’t finished any of my artwork that I’m working on, or been anywhere. So I’ll just show you some stuff that I’ve been working on, maybe search my infinate gally of photos and put some more pictures up for you, but for now I’ll leave it as this.

Using my woodburning tool

The background for my drawing. The drawing assessment is to draw on a non-fine art material or subject, so I’m drawing a topographical map, using my woodburning tool, on wood then using two photos of mine as the main subject ontop.

These are the photos that I’m using, if you can see it, I’ve just roughly drawn it ontop with charcoal, still not sure how I’m going to colour it, with soft pastels or ink/watercolour, need to think about it more..

For my painting class, painting my sub-culture.I didn’t know how to do this, so I’m using animals as a representation of people. I don’t refer myself to a particular sub-culture, to me, I’m an outcast, can’t properly fit-in to this modern society, I’m not like anyone else. I know I can only relate to my fiance, jesse, hence the birds in the centre, represnting two ‘love birds’ I gues. Then appart from him I think I can relate to my family, which will be little meerkats in the background, they were the best animals I can think of that would best relate to family.

Started Printing the Invites!

Finally starting to print the wedding invites! Took me an hour just to get these 13 printed, although the first two were just S/P (State Proofs, meaning that I’ve changed something to the image, like cut a little more out etc.) But still progress! I have a little time so I’m not going to rush getting these printed, try to work on at least 10 prints anytime I get time to do it.

If you can see it, there’s a flower between the two people, that was unintentional! but I like that it happened.

The start of the Wedding Invites

For my wedding, I wanted to make a more traditional style of invite, making them from scratch and relief printing an image onto the paper. Since in many ways this is an extension of my art practice, I’ll share what I’m doing. So I’ve only just cut the paper, which is just a form of handmade paper, and have cut out the image on the lino, ready for printing!
